Congratulations on a stunning result in the past Tour de France.  What a stunning accomplishment!!  It was wonderful watching your cycling prowess throughout the three weeks and I can't wait until next year (as usual).  You made Canadians very proud, watching one of their own be so competitive right to the end.  It seems the Versus commentators were also very supportive and complimentary of your overall abilities.

What impresses me most is your tenacity and huge work ethic. It was  very clear you were always competing at the highest levels.we never saw any sit up or sit on in any stage. Best of luck in the Vuelta.

Ever since Bauer and Alex Stieda--a university friend of mine--I've been waiting for someone to pick up the flag for all us Canadians, and finally you've done it!  All us Canadians--an ex pat in the US  in my case--are intensely proud of you.  Bravo, and keep up the good work.  Let's see you on the podium next year!

I've watched the TDF for a loooonnnnngggg time, but always cheered for someone in another country.  It was with great honour to see a CANADIAN coming up the from no where to 7th!! Incredible ride, Ryder.  Wishing you the very best year yet, and see you next year in the TDF!  Be true to yourself, and don't let the pressure get to you.  You already ARE a great rider!

Great job Ryder. I remember when I was racing Vet Ex in the '90s and you were this up and coming punk who was kicking everybodies ass - the lap times you put in as a kid put to shame what us 30 year olds were doing! Anyway, I've always followed your career/races and you deserve to be exactly where you are today. Congratulations job well done.

very hard to describe how proud you made us feel... got to the point when i wasn't tuning in to the TDF (every minute of the tour) to see AC or Andy but seeing where you were...  maybe i jinkst you but i said you'd finish on the podium this year... sorry dude... again, awesome effort.  Ryde-on!

i couldn't stop laughing at a crazy canuck fan wearing a hockey jersey and touque in stage 17 cheering for Ryder. Canucks are the only species on this planet wearing hockey jerseys in middle of summer.

I've never been this proud of being a Canadian in my life, your humbless, tenacity and work ethic is an example of what the Canadian champion represents. i've learned a life's lesson from you... 

This hungry, greedy Canuck fan wants to see more action from Ryder. A Yellow next year would be nice.

Ryder To me the pave, the experiment at Mende and of course the Tourlamet were the highlights of the Tour this year. And you were in the mix in all three with legends of Tours past and present.

The account of your ITT from the physio guy was exactly what I was doing looking at intervals yelling at the TV. Go, go, go! Funny how your radio was kaput and you thought you had dropped your time to the guys behind you. Dude you were awesome and you couldn’t hear any of us.

The last thing I’d like to say is chapeaus to you and your team. From Julian’s sprints to DZ dragging the peleton to keep your overall and to the guys who had to abandon and lastly to David Millar for staying in the Tour wow!

What a Tour, what a team and what a Ryder!
